Strong Fathers, Strong Children, Strong Families, and Strong Communities
Dr. Willie Barber
Dr. Willie L. Barber points out in Strong Fathers, Strong Children, Strong Families, and Strong Communities, that our nation faces a grave problem. Too few fathers are in the homes and in the lives of our children. In an increasingly dangerous and unpredictable world, the absence of positive, caring and nurturing fathers adds to the insecurity of children and to the rise in both family and community instability.
Drawing from his readings; from direct contact with fathers, children, and families, from attending conferences, and from his experiences as the first state-wide director of responsible fatherhood programs for Maryland, Dr. Barber offers critical advice and support for fathers and individuals working with fathers. He understands that being a father is one of the most sacred and important roles that a man undertakes.
Dr. Barber sees Strong Fathers, Strong Children, Strong Families, and Strong Communities, as a wake-up call for men to fulfill their responsibilities as fathers.
